How to Make Your Curls Last All Day and All Night
Share
The problem we all know
You spend 20 minutes carefully curling your hair, you leave the house looking perfect, and three hours later the curls have disappeared. There's a solution for that.
Before curling: the base is everything
- Wash your hair the night before — Day-old hair holds curls better
- Use a lightweight conditioner — Very moisturising ones can make hair too soft
- Dry completely — Not even a trace of moisture
- Apply heat protectant — It doesn't just protect, it also helps set the curl
During styling
- Curl in small, even sections
- Keep the Curlmate in place for 10–12 seconds for longer-lasting curls
- Hold the curl in your palm for 5 seconds after releasing so it sets as it cools
The right finish
- Wait until all curls are completely cool
- Separate with your fingers (never with a brush)
- Apply a few drops of hair oil to the ends
- Set with hairspray from 30 cm away
To make them last until the next day
Before bed, gather your hair in a high, loose bun and use a satin pillowcase. In the morning, revive the curls with a light spritz of water.
