The Perfect Temperature for Curling Your Hair Without Damage

Heat: ally or enemy
Heat is the most powerful tool for styling hair, but it can also be its worst enemy if not used correctly. With the Curlmate and its 6 temperature levels, you have total control.
Temperature guide by hair type
Fine or colour-treated hair: 150–160°C
Fine and colour-treated hair are the most vulnerable. At 150–160°C you'll achieve soft waves without compromising hair health.
Normal hair: 170–180°C
The ideal range for most hair types. The curl forms well and lasts several hours.
Thick or coarse hair: 185–200°C
Very thick hair needs more heat. The Curlmate's tourmaline ceramic barrel distributes heat evenly, reducing the risk of hot spots.
Why the tourmaline ceramic barrel makes a difference
- Distributes heat evenly without hot spots
- Emits negative ions that reduce frizz and add shine
- Gentler on hair than metal barrels
- Maintains a stable temperature throughout the session
The golden rule
Always start at the lowest temperature that works for your hair. If the curl doesn't hold, go up one level. It's much easier to increase heat than to undo damage caused by excessive heat.
